Welcome to Sessions Point!
Throughout the course of the American Revolutionary War, over 200 battles were fought in South Carolina, more than any other state. At the site of Sessions Point in 1781, it is at this bluff near the Waccamaw River that Loyalists surprised a company of Patriots, a battle occurred, the Patriots capitulated - except for Josias Sessions and eight soldiers who swam away and settled at this site rather than be captured in the black waters. The name of this community and design of the sign serve as a reminder of these times.
Session Point is a new home community located a few miles east of downtown Conway, close to the Waccamaw River, near where Old Reaves Ferry Road intersects with Bear Bluff Road.
